Visual (or 'graphical') abstracts ("VAs") have been used in some journals for many years, in a number of disciplines and with a wide range of production quality. In the last few years, HighWire-hosted publishers in a range of disciplines have begun incorporating VAs. This session will feature one speaker going into the details of their implementation, followed by a panel discussion among a half dozen publishers, which will illuminate the variety of experiences, processes and results we are seeing.
